The wife told me to book something for a long weekend starting 8/1. I'm looking for a place driving distance from NYC that has a nice beach for her and good fishing for me.

The lodging can't be a dive and preferably the drive should be less than 5 hours.


Any help?

Newport RI, Goat Island Hyatt or Newport Mariott. Short drive to beach and good fishing right in the corners of the beaches.

Headboast, there is the Frances fleet that has several boats and the Seven Bs, both sail out of Galilee, just accross the bay from Newport. Lots of charter boats, but only one that I would reccomend.
