I know a few of you guys have had Steve Law build you boats, and I was wondering if you had his telephone number? I have a 28 bhm and was thinking about stretching my boat to 30'. I was thinking about having him mold up a transom and 2' of hull and I will add it to mine after the rudder. My thought is it will help lower the bow down, create a decent ****pit(which in my mind is the biggist down fall of this boat) I think the added weight and drag will be minimal? What do you think?

I'd be careful of adding to the transom without adjusting the rudder and prop location.

I know of one case where adding that amount to the transom of a 30 made it a nightmare in a following sea.

good luck.

STOCK

I would recommend that you keep your vessel factory stock. A stretch makes the boat a one of a kind and limits your market value considerably. The 28 BHM was designed by Navel Architects. Many things change when you alter their design. A fellow boater on LI stretch a 34 Weber Cove. He got what you are looking for a larger ****pit and a flatter riding boat. In closing I am sure that you will accomplish your goals of a flatter ride and more room, plus the builder you are looking at is top notch. But in the long run is it your best option?

He also took off more than half the cabin, added a gillnet wheel and painted the boat blue. he added to his keel also. i watched him add the extension and it was interesting how he did it. he actually used formica as a form. he cut off his transon and used boat jacks to move the transom out where he wanted it. then he took the formica and wrapped the bottom as to the contour he was looking for. then layed several layers of glass on top of the formica. i asked him why formica and he said glass won't stick to formica.....

i've had 2 34 webbers cove boats....the second one was crap but loved the first one. here's some pictures of it after the guy i sold it to never took care of it.
