The NMFS has announced that in 2008 the limit for Angling and Charter/Headboat (fishing recreationally) permit holders will be one fish 27" to < 47", and one fish 47" < 73" per day. Recreational anglers will still be allowed to take one fish 73" or greater as a trophy fish each year.
Personally as a charter boat owner I can live with this as long as I can catch, tag and release additional fish during a trip. I just hope the little guys that are released learn to stay on the western side of the Atlantic.
