Sucked up some sand on sunday and wiped out my water pump. No flow through piss hole. Saw sand comming out where hose where flush out connection is.
Ive changer a pump on a 70 hp evenrude and a force 85. The hardest part was disconecting the shift rod.
Any sugestions would be apreciated.

trey, you got the service manual?

i would tackle this pump if i had the manual. i have found the new engerning and design in our modern day to be more repair frinedly, most of the time

you sure you just aint clogged up your passage with sand? try back flowing with the hose in the pisshole area?

Hi Dino,
I dont have the manual but I plan on getting it.
I tried flushing out the engine at the flushing port, nothing came out of the piss hole.
I was going to try and run a wire through the hole but I didn't have anything at the time.The boat is about 35 minutes from home so I didnt get back to it yet.
I got towed from Moriches Inlet to belport bay it cost $480.
The guy towed me with a 23 ft mako with twin 88 hp evenrudes, seems a little under powered for a tow boat??
