I have both but I prefer

2 piece. I pretty much use my 4 piece as a travel rod. No complaints about the action you just have to keep retightening the pieces after casting for a while. I forgot to do this once and it resulted in me snapping the end off one of the sections. Orvis fixed it free of charge but I didn't have the pole for a couple of weeks I guess that's why I have backups now.

I agree with Craig about the re-tightening. Other wise 2 and 4 piece rods are, for all intents and purposes, the same.

i would like to pass on a tip told to me apply candle wax to the male sections of the rod just rub some wax on it or if your a bowhunter than bowstring wax works even better,(it's softer) helps hold the sections together and there is no damage done to the grafite when assembling and disassembling the sections...
