I am told we'll be fishing in up to 200 feet or so . What is the takle requirement for this type of fishing? (mixed bag seabass, cod pollack hake red hake) I have a Penn 320 full of 30# power protwo poles unugly stick tiger
BWC 2202 7'long action MH 30-60# sigma (not sure what all that means!) and aST Croix Premier PM69hf 6'9" heavy power fast action 20-50 lb. Will any of this be good? Thanks in advance!

Just curious, what boat? A lot of boats add Cod to the list because it attracts customers, more than likely it is a majority Sea Bass trip, right?

If so, that 320 will be fine, I'm not familiar with the rods, can they handle a 20oz sinker (just in case)??

I have the same St. Croix you have with a Penn 310 GTi. It's rated up to 5 ounces I think, but I offshore wreck fish with it with 20+ ounces without a problem. It gets a bit tiresome cranking fish out of 200-300 feet of water all day, but I like it because you can get some fight out of the fish instead of just winching it up with a rod as thick as a pool cue. Your other rod should be good also.

I use that same St. Croix muskie stick for small-boat cod at Coxes ledge and Springtime at Block - no problem with any sinker size that you can possibly imagine.

About the lightest, most powerful rod in its size class.
