Estimated cooking time: 45 minutes Posted By: Botumfedur

This crab recipe was a little spicy.....just the way I love it! Super with fresh caught bluecrabs.

Deviled Crab

-------------COPY & PASTE TO NOTEPAD & PRINT--------------

3 cups crabmeat
2 tablespoons chopped onion
3 tablespoons melted butter, or oil
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 drops Tabasco
dash of black pepper
dash of cayenne pepper
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1/4 cup bread crumbs
6 crab shells, optional

---------------TO MAKE YOUR INGREDIENT LIST----------------

Remove any shell or cartilage from crabmeat. Saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter, until tender. Blend in flour, then add milk gradually and cook, stirring constantly, until thick.
Add lemon juice and both peppers, and remove from heat.

Stir the Tabasco into the egg, and add to the sauce, stirring constanly. Then add parsley and crabmeat, and blend well.

Place mixture into greased individual crab shells, or 5 ounce custard cups. Combine remaining 1 tablespoon butter and bread crumbs, and sprinkle over top of shells. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20 - 25 minutes, or until browned.
