yes, that's right Virginia: SORTIE actually does get out to fish once in a while!

well my pal George and I left the dock just after high tide (1800 hrs) with low expectations for results but high expectations for a nice night out. both sets of expectations were fulfilled! I haven't seen bunker busting the surface in my area all summer and last night was no exception. so we were prepared to troll artificials all night. George brought a very realistic looking swimmer that the same size and look of a bunker. it was a diving lure that swam erratically and we hooked it up to my wire line rig. he pulled a tube on the other side of the boat.

worked the structure provided by Flat Neck point, Captain's Island and Great Captain's island but had our one hit of the night between the latter and Calf Island.

I continue to believe that Cormorant reef should produce bass on the outgoing, but we dragged our equipment behind it a few times with no results

I just love fishing at night, no googins, no stupid VHF babble and the water was like glass on the way home.
