Tried the bridge for the last time. No fish during incoming Saturday night. When I got there there were about 20 guys on the bridge (the new one) and about 5 boats. By the time I pulled out of there, about 2 hours later, mine was the only car in the lot. Either everyone caught their fish before I got there, or there were no fish to be had. I think the latter.

Dejected but undeterred, I headed east down the beach to toss some plugs into the surf. Picked up a couple of school bass, but nothing to write home about. I know of another spot, also east of Shinnecock, where fish were being caught, but it's not my spot - can't give it up. Besides, the fish I saw were nearly all short.

The run is definitely on. Reports of big fish out of Moriches. Nearly all of what I saw being caught east of Shinnecock was short, though. Not too many reports to rely on about Shinnecock, so maybe people caught and aren't saying.

Usually I only have to mention that I don't think there's much around and 20 people will PM me to correct me... I'm waiting!

PS. Good talking to you the other day, FISHHOOKER. Your secret's safe.
