This is about a week late, but I just got back and I'm able to file this report. Montauk fluking last week was on fire. I fished 8/7 & 8/9 on the Sea Otter V in Montauk, limited both trips. As usual, the Otter operation was top rate, Capt Vinny kept moving with a large body of big fish and the action was constant on both days. There were not many shorts in relation to the keeper, almost everyone limited without any problem. I used several different rigs and weights, depending on the drift, changing often. What seemed to work the best was always a teaser above the weight. Pink worked best on 8/7 and white was the color of the day on 8/9. As an added bonus, I was able to fish with a couple of sharpies and Sea Otter regulars, Brooklyn Lou and Paul Ryan, real nice guys and excellent fishermen. It was great fun just to watch them operate and catch fish at the same time. I hope to get out a few time more before the summer is over, tight line.......................KR
