Finally got a chance to hit shallow water on the incoming and it paid off. Stripers running in skinny water.

Real picky and spooky bass, but good presentation yielded good results.

Here some pics from the day. Tight lines.

(fished alone, hard to take good pics and release fish quickly, sorry)

Great job in finding them! But that is one ugly boat, lol. I have been having fun hitting the flats around the Moriches area, but I will definitely give around Shelter Island a shot.

You can poll a boat and you can cast flies from a boat being polled,
But it takes a real flats angler to poll and fly cast from the the front of a flats skiff. Right on brother! What Kind of boat is that anyway?

You give this native of the skinny water hope!

Hey nice fish! I have been out here on the rock since last Friday, and the fishing has been pretty good. There are a lot of fish in the shallows, saw about 60 onee afternoon, but as you said really spooky. I only got one the day I saw them all.

Thanks guys, I'm not sure you'll read this reply since it's buried behind posts but here goes.

I was fishing the south side, going from flat to flat where the wind allowed me to pole around, which it's pretty challening when you don't have the platform (which had to go back to FL for several reasons, but should be back soon).

The boat is a Polar 1788 Flats, just like LowriderDave's just about a foot longer Smile

It was a great day but it was HOT and I run out of drinking water Frown

Nothing cooler than seeing these fish so close to you, but again, they won't take anything unless it looks right... hard to believe these are the same fish that will be blitzing on anything in a few months.

But then again, to me it's how you catch the fish Shades
