Fishing method Boat
« Previous Report Next Report »

Went out around 12 after a half day at work. Looked in my normal spot for bunker (havent been out since last week) but they all seem to leave. So went on the search and found them loaded up. Went from spot to spot and picked up one 20lber. Seemed like the fish were there but there was just to much boat traffic. Going out to Montauk tonight should be good. Ill post results. What is the best way to bleed a fish?

I typically will slice both gills as soon as a fish comes in the boat that I plan to eat. Bleeds like hell, but there may be other better ways I don't know about.

bleeding a fish

I usually cut under the throat, between the gills. You can see a small artery there. Cut that and fish will pump out all it's blood. I'll do that in a bucket of water. Then later put it on ice. Good Luck!
