Did the annual Hither Hills camping trip with the ole gang, Thur night 9/29 thru Sun 10/2 ... I would 'like to think' that last Thursday's blow scattered everything. Northerly winds subsided Fri afternoon, rest of weekend felt like August instead of first weekend of Oct. Seas were flat, water clear as a bell... in other words, no bait or fish seen. Didn't even need waders during the day.

Fri night north side was quiet, my friends landed sea robins & skates at HH, Sat dusk into dark at Turtle Cove was dead. Daybreak Sun morning at HH dead, only saw one small blue throw my smack-it back at me.

Otherwise, the camping, eating like kings, and having a blast at the campfires in nice weather with the ole gang, priceless.

Back to the local scene now.

Bummer Kev about the fish but I'm sure a nice trip anyway. I didn't make it out there over the weekend. It's Monday morning now and I'm bugging out of here in about an hour or so for the east end. HH with bait this afternoon/evening and then the point tomorrow before dayberak. I'm staying till Wednesday night or Thursday morning depending on what's going on. Stay tuned.

Hi shark, I was also at HH from sat to monday. a diver at the bluffs said there were hundreds of bass just laying on the bottom during the day. so i hung out until dark and the guy next to me landed and released a approx 36" bass. he then caught numerous fish and i finally got one at dark. the fish are feeding at night during the outgoing and not during the day. monday morning before daylight I had 1 more. by the time I figured this out it was time to go home. anyway I got a great tan and it was fun camping there. I think i need a camper.
