Took my 1 1/2 year old son and my mom out for their first ride of the summer. Tried for some fluke did a few drifts in each location Hempstead Harbor, Fort Totten, the red 46a bouy north of stepping stone, The Barges, 3 locations south of harts, and Prospect Point. Used squid/flukebelly and sandeel combos with white spro bucktail all for a grand total of ZERO fluke not even a nibble. I am going out again tommorow with my bro to get a little more serious please if anyone has had as little as a bite please let me know either here or as a P.M. I want to get something tommorow. I have had the worst fluke season in three years a few decent trips to C.S.H. and a few good days in Hempstead Harbor thats it. Even if anyone knows of some porgy action please help me out.

i killed the snappers off of sea cliff today. it was a regular bloodbath. (that's how desperate i've become) they were raiding killies and peanuts. i also mixed in two rat stripers of about 14 inches a piece. out in the middle of the harbor i had one 4-5 pound bluefish take a 2 oz kastmaster with white tube. i also lost one at the side of the boat about 3-4 pounds in the same area...west side of the harbor south of picket rock and bouy 8.

I fished the Barges (No barges moored today) as well this afternoon with LIVE KILLIES and hit keepers even during the slack. LIVE is the key probably because there is so much baitfish in the water.

Reports of bunker kills probably means hypoxia (lack of oxygen) which is why fluke may be in a few spots are good one day and not the next. Heard that Hart's Island was good on Sunday, but it was very slow Monday...I got no fish there. I did manage one 19" fish on the drop off at Prospect on a green hi-lo and no fish the previous two days. The previous report about the barges on live makes sense because all of the good reliable reports have been sporadic but all from the bridge to Harts/Prospect. Right place at right what it sounds like. Good luck today! Sunrise

Hey Jets28, I managed some porgie & a fluke just off of rock structures near Mamaroneck on Saturday. Try giving that a shot. Good luck.
