Nine of us made the trip from Queens today out to the Shinnecock Star for fluke. Great morning to be on the water and we had a very nice pick of fish just outside the inlet in 25-45 feet of 50 degree water. Tons of shorts but the nine of us managed about (20) keepers. The other side of the boat put a nice catch together and also had the pool fish which I would estimate was about 7lbs. The usual squid/fluke belly & spearing/sand eel baits were doing most of the catching. Green teasers seemed to work well today as well.

The Shinnecock Star is a first rate operation and I recommend the boat to novice and experienced anglers alike. Capt. John and first mate Dina work very hard to ensure that you have an enjoyable experience. I want to personally thank both of them for taking care of our mostly "amateur" crew that required "mucho" attention. Great job with the rigs, the nets, cutting our baits and filleting our fish. I will definitely be back to fish on the Star again.
