my mom drove past milldam earlier and said there was people everywhere fishing so when i got home i toke a rideover there and didnt find anything. can anyone tell me the right time to go. and if i use a mackeral tree will it work effictvly?

most mack rigs are way too big, get a few sabiki herring rigs, with the smallest hooks you can find. moving water, sunset or sunrise.

Got to have moving water near the top of the tide. Use your tide tables. Sabiki rigs and tiny jigs catch them. Mackeral trees are definately too big. Not too much weight or you'll just be feeding rigs to the bottom. Bring a variety of styles and colors. Some days one guy with the right rig kills them.
