Mackerel trees will work however the hooks are usually a bit to large. I tie up effective rigs by simply cutting 1 inch lengths of tinsil from gift wrap or even the insides of foil potato chip bags and snelling my hooks right over the tinsil. the snell holds the tinsil in place. then just make up several droppers and the rig is done. use gold hooks to increase effectiveness but not essential. cheap and effective best part. especially if you fish an area with bottom snags. joe
