To the guy who is missing his front license plate: The snow fence stake you ran over and left buried in the sand broke my steering linkage. I will get a quote on repair cost today or friday. Please contact me here via private message. If I do not hear from you I will find you as I have your license plate, plate holder and the damn stake.

That really sucks. It amazes me how much crap and holes and garbage people leave behind. I hope you recover your damages. It was pure laziness that kept that piece of fence sticking up and the first guy who hit it should have taken care of it. Good luck with the truck.

Hey Blasko, Tried to stay neutral but...remind me again why it is the other drivers fault you ran over something in the sand? Just curious. TidalMike

blasko, your talking the second fence west of 3? Part of that fence was taken down over a week ago and you still hit something? Prospector

I found that metal stake bent at right angles and almost ran over it myself, would have taken out my oil pan at the very least. I pulled it from the ground to open the path that was Sunday night, guess it was replaced again? I thought the outer beach was open this time of year from Smittys all the way to the west jetty?

Maybe if you paid attention to the old man in the booth you would know the county closed the open beach and you are supposed to take cut 2. duhhhh

tuna, THE Beach is officially open from cut one to the inlet and that's from the horses mouth, Eric the Super! Tide or moon dependant there's an advisory to take cut 2 to 3 or the inlet for those not looking for trouble or the many that don't air down that could find trouble. There was no need for your explanation point after your post, misguided as it was! Prospector

hey prosper, I am there every night and as of the first nite of the increased sea they closed the open beach and cut 2 is the only way back. that is why there are stakes in between the fence openings now Pay attention . Maybe if you got out there instead of staring at the computer you would know

Thats the type of slim that has taken over that side of moriches. Low life city. If they gave an IQ test before gettin on the beach, w/ a qualifing score of 90, 80% would'nt get on.

Let me attempt to say this wothout upsetting anyone. Blasko, I think you're probably venting, but it's your truck, your bill. If anyone is at fault it is the Suffolk County Government for leaving that snow fence out there in the first place. They leave more debris around the beach then some of the slobs that use it. As for the plate, it may have washed up, it may have been left behind by some poor surfcaster like yourself that ran over Suffolk County Government Debris and found his vehicle damaged or disabled and left the buried piece behind because he didn't see it or he was one of the many selfish beach users that plowed over the fence for fun without any consideration for our public land. No matter what the cause, you don't know and neither do I. So starting all this bickering over it does us NO GOOD. Now for the rules of the beach, I myself have not been on the beach for about 2 weeks. So I couldn't say if it was opened or not. I do know that the last time I was on the beach I drove and fished from the campground till the inlet. It seemed to be opened all the way out, yet the snowfence was still in place. The County likes to please the day boaters with the bathing beach at Great Gun. Maybe thats the reason we have all the County Debris on the beach, yet how often does government try to please sportfishermen. They close the beach to us so someone with a 75ft yatch can sunbath on the beach, they close our seasons or implement catch limits that are so small it isn't worth the effort or hard earned money to partake in the sport we are here talking about, FISHING. But yet because they have buried snow fence all over the beach, we are here now fighting amongst ourselves and namecalling. I have a name for all of us, it is surfcaster, fisherman, sportsmen. We need to remember we are all on the same team. When we fight with each other we give the County and anti's reason to restrict us from enjoying our past times. Fishing and hunting are going to be a thing of the past if we dont stick together. So I suggest we thank everyone on this page for the tips on what is open and how Blasko may handle this situation and close the subject. We shold not be on the surfs at Montauk fighting with each other for Newsday to print and we definately should not be on an open forum accusing another sportmen about something we just aren't sure about..... Tight lines to all, be happy the bass season is well underway... By the way I will be back on the beach shortly... So thank you for all the info on beach closures and the likes.....

A bad day of hunting and fishing is still a good day.
