Fishing method Boat
« Previous Report Next Report »

Today I fished inside,to avoid the inlet which would be to rough because of the noreaster that came thru over the weekend,as I had predicted.Anchored up about 30 yards from bridge to avoid any damage to boat to try my luck for some fat tautog(thats blackfish for you beginners).Fished hard for about 3 hours, just a few bergalls, switched over to whole green crabs, still nothing. Its still a little early for tautog, perhaps in about 2 weeks.Dont haul those boats yet.Tight line (THEPROFESSIONAL) Capt.Matt.

The Professional ? you gotta be kidding !!! First of all, every half-assed weatherman predicted that noreaster...kudo's to you on your powers of prediction. Second, we've been catching tog for 3 weeks at those bridges, INCLUDING KEEPERS to 19" on green crab and worms. ( I'm a long time blackfisherman, please, can I call it a TOG? ) Try fishing the beach dropoff on the north east side of the second Wantagh, watch for the drop to about 27 feet, closer to the bridge. Found it to keep us out of the bergalls. P.S....might be time to change your screen name ! LOL

Back home we got a taxidermy man. He gonna have a heart attack when he see what I brung him.

Fished hard? What the hell does that mean? The only thing hard about this report is reading it without laughing.

Guys RELAX, At least he's posting not just reading. I think the PREDICTED comment was for the inlet today, not the storm....Capt Matt the bridges are SO over fished, Keeper ratio is going to be low if any at all....

I agree, this guy is annoying to read. I think he is smoking hemp (that's marijuana for you beginners). Cappy...try livelining those bergalls and you may catch your...what is it 4th??? keeper of the year. Hold on tight PROF...it will probably be a big one!

I fished the inlet on Tuesday, it was fine, like a lake cept' for some small rollers, very fishable.

It's too bad people are allowed to select any name they want on this website ~ they should be assigned! Some suggestions: NotAClueFisherman, DidIJustSaySomethingStupid, or perhaps WhichEndOfTheHookGoesIntoTheBait would better suite this clown. This guy doesn't have a single clue in his tackle box. This is the same guy that posted "I just caught my first bass tonight, a fat 28-incher. If you want and info on how to use eels or clams, email the PROFESSIONAL." Fellas, this wasn't opening day of bass season in MAY ~ it was NOVEMBER ALREADY! TOO EARLY FOR TOG? Are you halucinating? I have personally fished rockpiles and tiny boat wrecks inside the bay in the JONES area for fish up to 9 pounds for 6 weeks now. (OK, North Shore guys cut us some slack ~ I know you throw those tiny 9-pounders back ~ but they are big for us!) It is time for someone to start reading thse reports before they get posted!

i have been catching blackfish at the rm dock for 2 months. anywhere you go has blackfish now. boat or surf. if you cant find them on a boat then you should sell it or just give it away for free and choose a new sport

Damn. I feel sorry for some of you. You guys must be miserable. Just sitting at a computer and bad mouthing people. Give it a rest. Let a man say his peace and be done with it no matter how much you disagree with it. This place is supposed to be fun, educational, and entertaining. All you negative people need to relax a little...loosen up...and have fun. Forget all this personal attacking "BS" and get back to fishing. If we want to act like children let's go to a playground. For Example: Instead of ridiculing a man 1) HELP HIM CATCH BIGGER FISH; instead of bragging how you are. 2) TELL HIM WHERE AN INSIDE WRECK IS; instead of telling him you fished it for over three weeks and caught tog to 9lbs. LEND A HAND, INFORM SOMEONE, TEACH SOMEONE THE ROPES, but more importantly stop being THE ABNOXIOUS PEOPLE THAT YOU ARE ACTING LIKE. A Side Note: Capt. Matt (THE PROFESSIONL) The Blackfish For Beginner Remark could have been withheld. As this is what most likely flared the fire.

Tried the "helpful" tactic last 3 times he wrote. To no avail.....
