Went on Celtic Quest party boat in Jamestown with Capt Chris for their last porgy fishing trip in Peconic Bay on Memorial Day.
This is my first time fishing porgy spring run in Peconic on a PB (I used to travel to Cape Cod - New Bedfore, Hyannis) for the porgy spring run up there. Saw many other PBs (Viking, Peconic Star...) fishing nearby. Porgy fishing was ok (not as fast-n-furious as in Cape Cod) with nice weather in protected water. CQ boat is very nice and clean, clam bait fresh, mates very helpful and plenty of room (only 1/4 full, feels almost like a private charter). Porgy bites were strong at times but quickly turned into pretty picky bite. Besides porgy, we caught weak fish, sea bass, fluke along with the usual rocking robins keeping us busy. A keeper fluke (probably 24-26 in) won the pool.
