Report location New York > Montauk > LOCAL ! MONTAUK HADDOCK on the BLUE FIN IV
Fishing method Boat
« Previous Report Next Report »

When fishing a few miles South of Montauk the past week we had 2 to 5 Haddock in the mix with COD, Seabass, Blackfish, Pollock, and Hake.

Will and Richard were ready to go when many others cancelled due to the inaccurate weather report. We had no rain or wind the whole day.

Ground it out where we had caught most of the Haddock before and were rewarded with 14 keepers and 1 short.

Threw back a good amount of 17 inch COD but kept two 5 pounders, a dozen Seabass, and about 20 Hake. It is nice to have another good species in the mix.

Richard and Will were nice enough to give me some Haddock for dinner.
Baked the broiled was excellent !

Weather looks pretty good for Wed and Thurs if anyone wants to give it a shot.
