Over the last week or so, there's been a lot of 10-16" fish around Jones inlet. I think they're mackerel but someone on the radio said they were small bonito. Any idea how to differentiate? guys were getting them on the beach too...mostly on small tins. I got one on a shad while jigging for bass. It certainly didn't go on a tuna-like run which is why I figured it's just mackerel. Anyone else been catching these?

I was catching them last week also. small green Bonita. Bonita have straight lines and mackerel have squiggly lines and bluish coloration to them.
