Did a little skiff fishing with a few of the grandkids in Moriches this past Saturday. For some reason fluking seems to be off in this are. Tried Hart's cove, west cut, down by the beach marina. Only six shorts caught plus a robin in lite boat traffic. Amazing the total absence of robins. Tide was incoming to top of tide, prime fluke tide. Tried bucktails with top teasers, spearing, squid, gulp. Water a bit brown but visibility rather good. Fluke off their bite or not there???

It’s actually been great in the bay this year. Like always, right location, right tide, right wind. Try Buoy 2 on incoming with a south or west wind. I’ve been using a 3/4 oz bucktail with Gulp chartreuse 4” swimming mullet.
