In the yak off Rye for the second Friday in a row. Nice to be out in a bathing suit in November! Last time for a while I'm sure.

As I was rigging up the boat a fellow fisherman stops to chat and tells me he's caught 150 fish so far with no keepers. So how good did I feel when I get my spot and my first two fish are keepers!!! Thought I had found the spot of spots but the rest of my catch were all shorts. Still, the fish gods blessed me and let me bring home dinner for my family.

Saw lots of bunker pods, tried snagging and live-lining with mo results. So no sign of the stripers that were there last week. And I'm told the bluefish are already gone or else never showed up?? Anyway a good day on the water in the balmy south wind, great to be alive.

Also confirming the first comment. Three trips in the canoe out of Rye, over 200 shorts, and only on fish barely 16”.
