Report location New York > Debs/Jones > A MEMORIAL TO MY FRIEND KEVIN OWENS
Fishing method Boat
« Previous Report Next Report »

It is with profound sadness that I learned about the passing away of Kevin Owens this past Thursday Night. Kevin suffered many, many, long years with cancer, & was a Very Brave Soul. Never, ever, feeling sorry for himself, years ago he accepted a leg amputation, & continued serving our Fishing Community. Not one of us will ever forget his Cheery Personality, never complaining about his Daily Agonies, & the many, many, Surgeries he faced, as this ulgy thing called cancer, spread to other parts of his body. Kevin personified the True Meaning of the word HERO! He was, without a doubt, was one of the Best Tog Fisherman, I have ever known, & the Double-Hook Rigs he tied, were purchased by scores of Tog Fishermen. To me, the saddest news is that Kevin is leaving behind his 6 year-old Boy. May this Kind, Loving, Warm, & Gentle Soul, find much Love & Happiness in Heaven, with Our Lord Jesus, & Our Blessed Mother Mary. To Kevin Owens, My Fellow Fisherman, Who Served All Of Us Well, I SALUTE YOU! Rest In Peace My Friend.....

Wow, Not that it is a shocker knowing his past experiences with the battle of the Big C. But a heart breaker knowing the man he was in light of all of it. Rest in Peace. You will be remembered for sure!
