Got out yesterday for a morning tog trip, armed with green crabs from Mark at Cow Harbor Bait n Tackle.

Broke the inlet at 7:30 AM and was greeted with 1-2 foot chop as the west wind and incoming tide battled it out. Not a bad ride, considering its mid November, and the water temp show 55 degrees.

Got to a spot around Eatons at 35 feet of water, and sent the hook down...first try had us shifted north of the structure, so we reset and got on the pile the second time.

Baits went down and instant action with hungry short togs coming up. My pals Ed, Mike my brother Ed and myself did the AllyKat shuffle as we tried to stay out of each others way as the incoming died off. The fish bit consistently through slack and the first part of the outgoing. Only when the tide really started to roll did the bite turn to a porgy fest which finished off our crabs. Lots of oh so close 15 7/8 fish went back..even a few that were barely keepers got sent back to grow some more. Ended the day with over 40 fish.

Came back to the dock before noon with 9 keepers..biggest went 19 inches. Filleted them there and watched the seagulls battle it out for the scraps.

Hoping we get a few more chances before the season is over.
