Heard reports of whales outside Moriches Inlet chasing bunker into the bay. Well there certainly is a lot of bunker in the bay. You can find them thick from Remsenburg buoy 31 all the way the Coast Guard Station through the East cut out the inlet to just outside and the Westcut. The big news is the 30-foot Whale I spotted in the bay off at Havens Point this morning at 8 a.m. I tried to call Atlantis Marine World but no good reported it to the Coast Guard via VHF for navigational hazard. I didn't want anybody running full-tilt into her. Told a friend of mine who was on his way out he followed her into Seatuck Cove by Seatuck Avenue boat launch ramp she almost got stuck in the mud. I returned to find her by buoy 30 and 31 Remsenburg Sea Tow was keeping an eye on her. Hope she finds her way back to sea.
