Well- it's been a while since I've posted, wanted to stop in and say hi.

I don't get to fish as much as I used to and what trips I've taken this fall have been pretty spotty so far. Had a run of fish a few weeks ago pass by and I've been able to grab a few fish here and there . Had a couple of good outings but nothing spectacular. Last night changed that. I had gotten some good Intel through the week from a couple of buddies. Decided to act on it last night. After taking my boy to the rise of the Jacko lanterns, then a trip to an old ice cream shop, I got home and got my stuff together to make a bit of a trip a little east of me. Got to where I wanted to be around 10:45 , suited up and started walking a bit. Awesome night out , great clear night , decent surf and no weeds. I'm not really familiar with the area I was fishing but figured if there were some fish around if have a good shot at a decent night. My goal when I go fishing is usually just that- to simply go fishing. Last night my goal was more to catch fish. I started off with a yellow white bomber with a black teaser. I planned to hike about a mile and take a few casts along the way to see if I could find any fish before I got to where I planned on working. Walking the open beach , I'd stop and try a cast or two in an area that "looked good" ( thanks for the great info on reading a beach Rich Trox).on my first three stops , nothing. On my 4th stop, 1st cast , I got drilled close to the beach. After a quick fight , landed a healthy schoolie about 26 ". Fish took the teaser. My next 3 casts all produced fish. All about the same size , 3 of 4 took the teaser. I decided to switch the yellow bomber for a black Yozuri swimmer. Landed a handful more in the spot - half on the teaser- half on the plug. A couple of fish looked about 30". I decided to leave fish to look for bigger fish. Always a tough call and I wouldn't have minded just banging away at the fish I was into, I was having a blast, but I did want to find larger fish so decided to make the move. I ran into a buddy ( always a pleasure Paul) and we moved east a bit. Next stop for me, 1st cast , got hammered! Definitely a bigger fish . After a couple of long runs I dropped it. Reeled in and heaved back out and got drilled immediately again. Another bigger fish but didn't feel as big as the one I dropped. After a nice fight, beached a quality keeper. Quick pic and let her took the teaser. Paul landed a nice one in the same spot. Seemed like some bigger fish were moving in as it got later. Picked at some nice fish for a while until things started to slow ( and our wives started calling wondering where we were.) Started wrapping it up around 2am. While fishing our way back to the car, we noticed there were schoolies in about a foot of water at our feet. Very cool. Paul landed one right at his feet and I had one that hit while I was " trolling" my lure behind me.called it a night with about a dozen fished beached and a few dropped. I also picked up my first ever weak fish ( just a baby). All fish released safely. Great night out.

Nope- right location. Why on earth would you be sure of where I was fishing? Nope - west south Shore is where I was. Good grief.
