Fishing method Boat

Finally decided to pull the trigger on my 1st offshore tuna trip when I got the word from Jon Doe that the big eyes were getting hit on jigs. Kilsong did a great job putting the trip together and appointed Jimmy the Greek from "On Time Charters" for the position. We lucked out with the weather as it was absolutely perfect from the ride out to the grounds, and we were greeting with flat seas once we arrived. We started off hooking up with small yellowfins that we had at the boat blitzing through our chum as dusk started to settle in. During the night we had some misses on the jigs and although we marked loads of fish they weren't actively engaging. We finally picked off our 1st yellowfin drifting a whole squid and had a few more using the same method. As soon as sunrise arrived we were able to pick up some blitzing skip jacks to live-line that became very effective. Unfortunately we couldn't get the big eyes to bite but we were able to settle for yellowfins all morning. For the more experience offshore fisherman this was no epic trip but for me I had a great experience catching all types of different species, seeing a 20ft whale shark at the boat, 1000+ lb manta ray and a 9ft. hammerhead that rammed the boat while chasing a fish.

Now that I got my feet wet best believe i'll be back fo mo!!

I was there all day on Sunday, saw the whale shark, we chunked for them and had to leave, no more room or ice on the boat.

Fan FREAKIN tastic Kal

Awesome job...looks like a great time.

I've been on quite a few offshore trips that turn into long boat rides. Not the fault of the capt....just bad luck...that fishing.

Glad your first trip lived up to your expectations.

Good job MEN!
