The conditions lined up for a good night sesh. The bait has been stacking in this particular location so I knew it would be good with the falling tide. I put out my first cast and was slammed immediately but the fish didn't get the hook good. Next three cast same thing. Finally I put the jig out in the same spot and hook up. The fish put up a nice fight and came on in a good clean schoolie. After that I hooked up with two more chubby schoolies. Then the blues came out to play. Caught a handfull of pissed off cocky's before getting beat up by a nice bass. The fish took the jig the second it landed in the water and went on a hard run right in to the junk. I felt the line rubbing up on the structure and there wasn't much I could do about it but to hold on and be patient and wait for the fish to swim out. She took off on another run once she settled down I started to gain some line but as she's starting to come out of the structure i felt her come unbuttoned... It stung a little but hey thats fishing you don't always win the fight. I Had a few more blues after that before the bite died off. It was a good summer this year with fish to be had for those that put in the work. Hopefully the fall will be good too. Keep em tight...

I really hope that this is not a parody on who I suspect it is because they are not deserving.

Just in case, are we unable to hash out our differences like men with a discussion? There are clearly some SERIOUS dissimilarities between us in this "fishing" community.

For one, where I'm from, opinions are made, anyone in opposition, we sort it out like men.

This would not be the way. AGAIN, if that's what is intended here.

Should I start compiling a collage of 20 lbers that I have so many photos of, every day for the course of the season, call them fish 1, fish 2, fish 3..., claim its real time, all for the sake of staging a jovial parody?

Not my style. Instead, I will bring it STRAIGHT UP to who I have the qualms with. If we can't sort it out, things start heading south and get complicated, like the road we are headed in.

DarkSkies and I had a beef when he backed up his comrade UrbanFishingMan who would continually make slick comments on my posts in what turned out to be a sincere attempt to warn me about this site and sharing as much as I did. He came at me behind the scenes with conviction and gave me a compelling, in my face, held no punches, stance on what Urban stood for. We handled and sorted our difference of opinions like men and now Dark has my UTMOST respect.

Nothing will ever stop me from calling it as I see it and I expect the same from others. I am prepared to hash things out in a logical fashion as should we all. My temper may flair, but at the end of the day, I'm reasonable.

If this is not what I suspect it is, then my bad. But, def seems like a parody/shot at someone or maybe others, and these are my opinions and response. The ball is in your court to help us make sense of this or not because you most certainly have our attention.

Parody? I'm Not really sure why your coming at me like this... I don't know what I did to you that you that you have a problem with me. I have always posted honest reports to help my fellow noreasters out. I feel I provided enough info to help modavate those that know to get out and make there own report. Perhaps if you were so concerned about my intentions a private message would have been more appropriate instead of trying to put me on the spot.

Just some thoughts here......

Some of the craziest people I know, are the hard core fishermen I share intel with....we all have strong personalities.....we're all a little strange in the head......(At least I am...Toungue)

I feel more comfortable around people like that....than I do being around "normal" people.....

I think our strong personalities can clash sometimes....but so what, we're Men...and screwing up and making mistakes is in our nature...

RealTauk, you and your crew are a hard core class of fishermen......up to you guys it ain't about going out for an hour at a time.....you keep it moving for the whole tide until you score, or collapse in a heap the end of a trip because you have given your all....

It's the competition within ourselves, pushing ourselves to do the best we can....despite all odds.....that keeps us coming back to work the night tides again and again........

Some can't understand that.....but I believe anyone who has fished all night....multiple locations...in the pursuit of one fish.....is someone who can understand....

Again....we are all different....different backgrounds....etc....but the love of the chase...of that possible trophy, our own personal satisfaction at beating our best....is something that I think brings us together.......

Wolfdog....I thought your report was funny and creative.....good job.up

Geez....some of you guys should lay off the caffeine during the day!...Smile Toungue
in the end...we can all make mistakes in how we interpret things...

I think we'll ALL be a little happier once the fall fishing starts to heat up a bit.....and we can put our efforts into getting out there and challenging ourselves to find some fish....

Tight lines, gentlemen.....
See ya's out there....up

Bad interpretation then. I always considered you to be a legitimate contributor. Believe me I was shocked to see what I interpreted as the public humiliation of someone in particular who is not deserving and came in defense. I'll publicly apologize if you feel I put you on the spot and will address this further over PM.

Two points correct me if I'm wrong

Dan, first thing nice job on catching during this rough time we call the doldrums...proof of your skill level.

Point one. I usually position myself so that if the fish wants to run she usually will go down current. I put "hard structure" on my right if the outgoing is going left to prevent what happened to you as the fish "hung up"

Point two. I back off drag if I'm hungry up. Do you think k that would've saved the fish?

If you ask me why do I go fishing the answer will always be I'm a Antoine, Antoines go fishing!

Now this is a good display of character that we should all strive to possess. Way to go Tauk for publicly making things right.
Dan I hope you can see the good in all this.

I appreciate the kind words but you got a factor in the "X factor" luck it's a part of the fishing game. I had no choice about that fish taking me in to the rocky areas it's just a part of the game. I did have my drag relatively loose when he took me in there and it wouldn't have mattered he didn't cut the line he shook the hook.

I'm not one to credit or believe in "luck" sometimes we are in the right place at the right time. If you planned to fish that section of the tide then I wouldn't discount your catch to "luck"
I didn't realize the fish shook the hook. That's not so bad in my eyes.

I hear you on the duldroms. I'd like to think you just have to find them, and figure out what they will hit when it's hot lol.

I think Dans post was "safe" Helpful to the noreast community as always.

My answer to that question would be fish the opposite tide, and let my offering swing to them. In this case fish the hole on the incoming tide and not outgoing. But hey whatever works right!
