I headed out with Richy on Saturday and we hit the reef early. We had short fluke and with no wind it made it difficult to catch much of anything worth wild. I said to Richy how this is the first year I haven't seen sturgeon flying out of the water. I decided to go further out about 3 1/2 miles out and see what was in the deep and it wasn't much out there. Richy says he sees huge splashes out about another 1/2 mile or more so we take a ride out there to watch sturgeon put on a wild aerial display like I have never seen before and it lasted 45 minutes. They were flying all the way out of the water on all sorts of angles and flipping and twirling. It was awesome to get front row seats while everyone else was sitting at the reef. The sturgeon were from 100Lbs to about 200LBs I would guess. There are squid everywhere we went from 40 feet of water to 80 feet of water. No matter where we stopped there were squid. Came back in to find more shorts then headed in before we baked out there. Not much on the front of sea bass or fluke but a great day none the less.

I wonder if anyone on this site ever caught a sturgeon chunking for bass or blues?

I guess all the keeper size fish prefer to be caught by the head boats....or so their reports would make it seem.
