Report location New York > North Fork > Orient Pt - BROOKLYN GIRL - BLACKFISH - Saturday Crush Job to shy 10 Pounds!
Fishing method Boat
« Previous Report Next Report »

What can you say? Limiting the whole boat with quality Tog is a great day. The last three trips have seen double that! Some serious Blackfish bites and loads of big Tautog landed.

Saturday was a special day. A sold out 17 angler Open Boat hammered out a near boat limit on the first deep drop in cold and somewhat snotty conditions. When that slowed, a second drop in beautiful but chilly conditions sealed the deal with another 90 keepers landed. Lots of big Tog came up to shy 10 pounds, three others in the 9 pound class and many 5-7s.

Saturday's total, 140-150 keeper Blackfish landed plus many just shorts. High hooks? Andrew landed 25-30 by himself. Dennis had 20 and a couple of others had over 10 keepers, ORL. Everyone had at least 5-6 keepers, most double limiting. What a day!

Pics below all from Saturday.

With the bite this good and the water temp still in the low to mid 50s, we are going to sail right through Thanksgiving weekend. Four dates left, all have some room:

This Saturday 11/22

Sunday 11/23

Friday 11/28

Saturday 11/29

Hope you can make it out one more time!

Thanks, Capt. Ken & Barbara
