Well after picking through rats the last few weeks every single morn on beach 4-5am and hiking and fishing my butt off before work, FINALLY found some better fish..

Met wolfdog down by the beach around 5 and hopped in with him to a beach I know nothing about... We checked a few spots that were too flat and calm for my liking then we come up on this great looking point with some nice suds rolling.. 10 mins in with darter I get slammed and I into a monster.. Crazy head shakes and line peeling.. battled it for like 2 mins and as it takes another beastly run the hooks pull... TERRIBLE... I was a bit mad and disappointed to say the least and was kinda rattled and couldnt get my mind off it. After I settled down and focused I get the plug right back in the suds nice and wack again.. Felt like a small fish at first till it laid in the current and I couldn't move it.. After nice battle I land it... 33" and fat as fat can be... Went prob almost 20lbs ... After all morning debating how many bunker are in it's gut when i got it home and fillet it turns out it was all SPERM not a nada a nothing in its gut.. Pretty weird for this time of year, No?

Anyways that was it for the morn... Very small window to get bit the last week or two.. by 6:30ish its a done deal...

paspar, so good for you. A new fisherman getting a 32" striper, better than most of us scouring the south shore. A good day for you.

Great report. Nice fish. Loosing a big fish hurts, but you get immediate relief if u hook up again........
