Fishing method Surf

Got out after work, long couple of days, to some less then stellar conditions. No wind and no surf to speak of. Plus I was on the wrong side of the tide. Still managed to pull a couple of fish. SP did the damage, but they liked a different pattern. Fish were hanging on the outside of the bar, not close in like my last few trips. Enjoy.

Man, those first two bass look long and lean. Nice outing- maybe the fish will put the feedbag on heavy this fall. Little blue is perfect table size.

Way to go Jay! With the conditions as quite as they were- what retrieve speed worked for you last night?

great night

Nice clean fish. Have a couple of questions about your gear. What was the weight of the SP you were tossing also it looks like your using braid but hard to tell in the photo. What test line. I ask because you mention that they were hanging outside of the bar. The area I fish I can only reach the outside at the top of the incoming. Just wondering what types of distance are you hitting with the SP. Thanks for the report finding inspiration from it to get back out!

I have no idea how far I am getting out there at night...Toungue But I know it was over the first bar. Fish would usually hit right before I started bumping the bottom and you only got one strike at them. Tom I was just reeling at a med/slow pace just enough to keep her wobbling. Had quite a few strikes but they were light, may have been small blues or shad. Conditions should get better tonight with some building seas. Hoping to get out again.
