What a difference a day makes. I could have sworn I saw the wind was going to 5-10mph out of the S early last night.Got home from work, looked outside and saw an angry ocean and the wind was cranking. After a quick dinner and some fun with my boy I grabbed my stuff , threw on a bottle plug and headed down. On a side note- when I went to change plugs I noticed I lost the front treble on the SP I was using Sunday night. I dropped a decent fish right before calling it a night and chalked it up to just another fish winning- turns out the hook busted off on me.It wasn't a big fish so I guess I'm glad it happened when it did- would have been pissed if it was a big fish. I had only used the plug a few times . I always switch out the hooks on my Bombers-guess I need to do the same on the SPs.

So I got down to the angry ocean and the wind blowing what felt like 20-30 from the S. First cast- weeds but not terrible. I was hoping the fish would still be in tight as distance wasn't going to happen. I decided to go work the open beach again . Worked east for about a mile tossing into the relentless wind. Not as tap. Tried a darter and needle after the bottle - nothing doing. Next shot for me is Wed. night - which means tonight should light up-lol. Those full moon weeds should be in just in time for my next outing.

Thanks for the report.

If you could please keep on that darter over all others and let us know how that goes...

SP ugrade without changing the action/balance too much

I will say it until I'm blue the SP will catch fish...big fish or small fish that's another topic lol.

I have done a few different things to the SP and I found that the best way to upgrade them without losing that key action/balance is
1) Fin Strike split rings, #5 40 lbs test
2) VMC 2/0 hooks
3) If you ONLY want to catch bass with it (this gets tricky so follow me)remove the tail hook, upgrade the split rings, take a swivel and attach it to the first split ring, take a second fin strike ring attach it to the other side of the swivel, take the VMC hook attach it to the ring and boom! you can use that when you limit out but you still want to fish, or when you want to weed out that blues. (if I could figure out how to upload a picture in my comments I would show you)

If you ask me why do I go fishing the answer will always be I'm a Antoine, Antoines go fishing!

I think I know what you are talking about when you move east to fish the open beach. I do the same, but in a different spot. I love it. Everyone thinks the fish live on the jetties, but reading the currents and structures on the sandy beaches produce way more fish for me.
