Fished the Viking FiveStar on a 48 hr. tuna/sword trip. We did well but I wanted to thank Capt.. Neil (again) for my Maximizer, now about 7 or 8 years old. Got it primarily as a fluke rod but she's handled blackfish, by-catch blues, porgies and sea bass while fluking and now we add mahi's to the list. No pics but had my limit of 6 to around 10-12 lbs on some drops 70 miles out.
Great trip for our target fish - 6 bigeyes, 24 yellowfins, short sword released and 60-70 lb white marlin also released. Here's a pic of the marlin which I caught on Trophy Tackle pink squid jig. Surprised the hell out of me with its first jump - had no idea what it was until then. Second pic of some of our bigeyes.
I love God I love my family I love Fishing I love my country…Love it's everything that make me happy, thanks God for love'<ALSO I'M FAIR WEATHER FISHERMAN>and proud of it.
Thanks fellas. So nice to hear from my old buddies Joe, Ed, Freddy and Eddie. This was a trip I'll always remember; such a variety of sea life and great catches.
Hope you guys are well and it would be great to see you guys before too long. I know I'll be on the back-to-back Memorial Day fluke charters in Port Jeff. Hope you all can make it.
