TIP.. Use circle hooks, and loosen the drag. You will never lose a rod that way, and the fish will set the hook itself.

Yeah I was careless. I thought I loosened the drag and I use circles when fishing for stripers. I never want to deep hook one that I will end up releasing. Been at this for 30 years. First time for everything.Confused
