Went on Sunday to a famous island where the party boats go. Fished the pier from 3 PM to 5 PM. Dead low to half incoming tide. Most of the pier was full of weekend fishermen with crab traps. About half dozen crabs caught. Only one nice bluefish, no fluke.

The current at the end of the pier was too strong, so we walked back to the island and fished an area of the pier with less current. My son was using a spoon and caught this: 23-inch fluke. We used a net from a neighbor (THANKS!) to get it on the pier.

It was awesome and made his day!! Drew quite a crowd.

My son''s 23-inch fluke.
