Spent fri and sat prepping the boat for the beginning of fluke season. Finally got everything in order and got out on sunday.

Stopped off at Cow Harbor Bait and Tackle....hit up Phil for some FAT spearing, and a new bucket of Gulp!

Spearing was very nice...large and firm..held up well.

Got to the Ramp at high slack..dropped the AllyKat in and motored onto the calm Sound by 2pm. There is something to be said for motoring out into open water after the cold hard winter we had....felt like leaving everything behind and getting some hydrotherapy in.

Found the mini fleet just outside the inlet..everyone drifting for fluke in 20-30 ft of water. Took about 20 minutes to locate them, but they are there. The fish liked spearing today, so I tipped the Gulp! with spearing...they bit the spearing, and stayed for the artificial.

Only fished for two hours as the wind with tide had the drift moving at a quick pace by 4pm. Called it a day with one 19 inch keeper aboard along with some very close 17.5 inchers and a few smaller ones...yes, there was a Sea Robin sighting also.

All in all..nice quick first trip for the AllyKat. All systems go, and looking forward to the next time out.
