So it was too windy to fish the Sound when I got out to my place, plus everyone else was tired out....so I walked to my nearby Peconic Bay channel expecting nothing. I've never caught anything past the 3rd week of October in this area, not counting the days when flounder existed. To my eternal surprise, I had a fish on my 2nd cast...a 22" schoolie...quickly followed by 2 more and a run-off...all increasingly smaller. All caught on a Gag's bunker plug, just at sundown, incoming tide. I tried again this morning on the outgoing, then again same time on the incoming, for nothing at all. Still, a great way to (probably) end my season.

Thanks for the North Fork report. Not much of a season this year on the north fork.
