Usually fish either surf or open boats but got offered a chance to do a charter so decided to try it out. Went with 4 other guys who i use to work with on the Black Rock. Right off the bat we were trolling 2 lines behind the boat and nailing big blues off the bat. Within 45 minutes we stopped keeping blues because it just seemed silly to keep more than we would eat.

Then headed for a ride into Long Island Sound and started hitting some good sized blues and some striped bass. I had landed 2 striped bass on these trolls but not big enough to keep.

So we made a return trip near Orient Point and did a few more trolls to where it ended up i was the only one without a keeper bass. So Captain decided to set up one last time to help me out. First pass both rods bent but didn't hook up so Captain let us go ONE more time. Pass again and the rod on the left started screaming out so i got set up and started cranking away. Well, i must thank the Captain for giving me a shot because i landed the biggest striper of the night and my biggest ever. Excellent boat and would definitely go again. We came away maxed on stripers and took home 15 big blues out of the dozens we caught.

Last Troll of the Night :)

We were mostly jigging bucktails with strip of pork skin i think. Then later we were towing some other lure behind the boat, the one with treble hooks on it and shaped like a fish lol. I usually just use either diamond jigs with teaser tubes or bait so not 100% sure what its called. Just know the fishing was beyond anything I ever did from land.
