Stopped off at Cow Harbor on saturday afternoon and picked up some fresh bunker from Phil for an early sunday AM trip. We have been off the water for a couple of weeks with a fuel pump repair that reared it's head just after the 4th of July.

At the ramp by 6:30 am with Boyd, T-Mac and Ed for some chunking and then fluking. Motored out and had the sound whitecapped from the steady east wind, that happened to work well with the incoming tide.

Set up at 50 feet and chunked the freshies. First up was an absolute pig of a sea big that Ed wanted to keep Marmaduke and try it out.

T-Mac got the party started when he came tight to a hard fighting bass. Had some tense moments and a few runs but we slipped the net under the 35 incher...bled out and into the cooler. Boyd was next with another fighter...this one with teeth and yellow eyes. Only one blue for us on the day, and it was sent back.

Ed followed up with a 33 inch bass that was very light in color, and Boyd rounded out the catch with a 31 incher. I chunked up a 27 inch shorty that lived to see another tide.

With the tide slowing as well as the fishing, we pulled anchor in search of fluke. On the ride east, the AllyKat seemed to start running rough again. I dont know what it is, but she ran strong at higher revs, but stuttered and stumbled at low RPMS. We hung around the powerplant just incase and managed short fluke to 17 inches along with a few robins.

The boat decided to stall as we were approaching the ramp and now I know something is really not right. Back at the house, she barely wants to idle even out of gear...more repairs on the way. I've got a bad feeling its the fiberglass fuel tank and ethanol ruining my season. More repairs on the horizon.

Very tasty. I only keep the biggest ones as the little ones just aren't worth the work.
