Had more issues with the AllyKat since the delayed start to my season. She really hasn't been running "right" since last august, but I took her out for togging, and then again early this year with that little voice in my head knowing all was not right.

SO..finally I installed a new carb after a pair of rebuilds, and gave her a test run later on saturday with Rob and T-Mac.

Dropped her in at the ramp and she started right up, and soon settled to s nice smooth idle. Already I was feeling good about the boat. We motored onto the flat calm Sound and she ran flawlessly. We drifted in a few spots when T-Mac called and was ready to get picked up back at the ramp. Opened her up and hit 42 mph without a hiccup and more throttle to go.

No more stalling or rough idles at the ramp and finally I was able to relax behind the wheel.

With the sun setting, we dropped anchor at 60 feet and sent the chunks down, with plenty of chum to go with it figuring we already lost half the tide.

Didn't take long for the fish to appreciate the work we did to the boat, and soon I was tight to our first keeper bass of the year...a fiesty 31 incher that got bled out and sent to my Mother in Law as per her request.

The rest of the dying tide brought a few blues, some real monster dogfish..one pushing 5 feet in length, and two missed bass..one on the circle hookset, and one that spit the hook at the boat.

Called it a night as the tide died, and she started right up without hesitation. All in all, my first relaxing trip in a long time, and a meal for the family....can't wait to do it again.
