Weny fluking in smithown bay. Caught many fluke and robins with 2 being keepers at 21 and 19 inches. Then we caught a ray and not sure what species it is. Anyone know? Thanks

Looks like a big skate, pretty common on the south shore

Definitely a skate, can't determine from the picture , could be a winter or spotted skate, or little skate.

Torpedo ray

Might be a torpedo ray, which can shock you with an electric volt. That happened out in montauk last summer, the mate didn't know what it was and got shocked.
