Weekend run down:

Planned on fishing a few hours Friday night between 6-9 pm. Got down to the surf - still nice conditions 4th cast in landed a solid schoolie. Ran into a buddy and fished with him for a bit- he got into a couple of fish then my phone rang and trip got cut short my plan for a few hours turned into a 45 minute trip. Landed 1 more small guy on my way home. First and bigger fish took the bottle plug, second on teaser.

I couldn't get out until Saturday night again. I got down Saturday night around 11:30 and hooked up with couple of buddies who just got down as well. Still great conditions , with nice surf and no weeds. As I walked up, one of them just landed a keeperish looking fish which he quickly let go- I took it as a good sign that there were still hungry fish around. We worked a few areas when one of my friends got the same type of "fishing is done for you tonight" calls I got Friday night. At least he was able to land 1 schoolie before he had to split. By this point I had gone my longest stretch without a tap since Sandy left town. I was getting kind of spoiled I guess. About an hour or so into it I had my first tap, then had a few hits and misses. I switched up to a bomber and while working my way home I finally hooked up with a decent fish. Chunky guy- looked about 28" or so- quick picture and released- fish took the bomber. My other buddy landed a couple of schoolies along the way.

At our last stop I landed one more micro and a schoolie. Fishing definitely slowed down a bit, as was pointed out by my friend, we were getting further away from the new moon. The fish were very active last Saturday, before the new moon, then Thursday night and Friday night, right after the new moon, they seemed pretty active as well. I got to run down for an hour last night at sundown . Low tide , nice surf , very, very little weeds. I tried out a popper for a while looking to raise a fish, nothing doing. Tried a bomber then bucktail for not a tap.

Tides set up well for some late night fishing this week. Looks like I'll be dragging ass at work tomorrow and Wed.

Saturday night fish

Very nice going Tom. Still managed to get the line wet and hook up into a some action. Hopefully colder temps hold off a bit and some bigger fish move in. Keep it up. FISH HARD, TIGHT LINES.
