What a great weekend! Fishing was very solid.

Went out Thursday evening and managed a keeper fluke and a sweet sunset. Noticed a lot of bunker around and took notes.

Friday evening / night was no disappointment. I was running a little late and got out to the fishing grounds at about 6:45. Managed another keeper fluke, and while the bunker were harder to visualize due to the breeze, my ace in the hole found a few pods. I snagged a couple and was about to settle in live lining when a call for assistance came from the kid.

He and his fishing partner were killing the bass on the hook and he offered some (rare) assistance. He insisted that I come and say hello, so I did and then I went back to what I was doing.

I slipped a live bunker into a pod (just after a nice sunset) that seemed to be getting 'picked on' and within 5 minutes I hooked into a nice 32" bass. I love 'hunting' bass in lieu of sitting on a hook. Not that I am against sitting on the hook, but my boat is not 'hook friendly'.

Having a bass and a fluke in the cooler I figured I would head in. It was dark, REAL dark. Thanks to my trust new FF/GPS I navigated the channel easily.

Once on the dock I checked my home messages and lo and behold there was a message from a fishing friend. He was inviting himself if I was going fishing this weekend. It was about 11:30PM so I figured I would give him a call to see if he wanted to be at the dock at 7:00AM. While his girlfriend did not appreciate the gesture he sure did.

We headed east on Saturday morning. We hit the Mount Misery Shoal early and picked a couple of keepers off it. Once the crowd arrived and the tide changed we headed back to the bay.

I nailed a nice fat keeper (a little over 4+ pounds) withing close range of good company. There are photos of this, but having not wanting them used against me I opt not to upload them.

Today I had some chores to do this morning, but got down to the dock about 2:00PM thinking of going for another trip. The wind was blowing so I was debating to myself whether or not to cancel my plans. There were a few fisherman coming in and while they had good catches they informed me of the conditions. Not horrible, but not good.

For a moment I thought that I would just hang out on the dock and have a couple of cold ones when I heard a voice. "If it were me I would go".

That's all it took and I was off. At worst case I could always just turn around. Much to my delight the conditions to the spot were not so bad. I had to reduce speed to about 25MPH to and 30 MPH on the return for a cozy ride, but thankfully it was a short run.

When I got to the grounds I was practically alone. Just two other boats were around. The drift was swift, but nice. Picked a bunch of shorts and got another keeper for the box.

The CQ was looking for shelter against the wind and mugged me. It was a welcome sight. The mini fleet followed shortly after so I headed back to the dock having wrapped up a great weekend.

Over the 4 days / evenings I landed 5 keeper fluke, (loads of shorts) 2 skates, 2 sundials, 1 bass (keeper) and countless sea robins.

Not a bad weekend Koz...
Looks like your getting your moneys worth out of that new machine.

Hopefully you can sneak out this weekend, you might need to change your white pants first.
