With surf fishing for Stripers officially done with for me, I need something else to pass the time by.

Took my vacation back home in NorthEastern PA, was hard to find lakes with enough ice on them to fish, but I prevailed. Caught some quality fish and a few nice bags of fillets.

Sadly though, my vacation is over and I have to return to work on Thursday. With my new St. Croix Legend in the mail, all of my surf reels cleaned and serviced, and a whole corner of my room crammed with new gear and plugs, April cant come soon enough!

Good bass too

A good day

Fat Perch

One tasty fish

These guys are fun on 2 lb. test!

I did most of my fishing in the Pocono summit area, and a little bit up in Wayne county

Try the spots in the lake or pond that you know hold some fish like weed beds, holes, channels. They will most likely still be holding some fish after the water freezes over.....if it freezes over!

That perch was 14", almost 2 lbs., with a 10" girth. A very big perch, but we catch em bigger than that, not too much bigger though.

Just tell us

I live in Waymart Pa NEPA Wayne county. Those perch seem to be the size you get in Lake Wallenpaupack however that is in Pike County. If in Wanye County it could be; Prompton, Millers, Long Pond, Lower Woods ,but not Upper Woods that is for trout. Come on.....which one?

Better get busy living or get busy dying.

I forgot to mention Duck Harbor. I am looking at the homes in the back ground. No homes at Millers, Lower Woods, Prompton, so that leaves Long Pond or Duck Harbor.

Sorry to say chucki, but none of those pictures were taken in Wayne county. All of them came from a little south, mount Pocono area to be specific. During my vacation I did however fish upper woods (for trout), long pond, and ran out of time before I could get on nickerson or prompton- man I love that lake. Any chance you know Joe Mican?

And forgive me, I'm not sure if nickerson is the correct name of the one I previously mentioned, I think it starts with an N, one of the private lakes up there.
