I was fishing in the Twilight Zone last night. Started out 11PM at the desolate public beach where I encountered a strange man wearing only a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and a knapsack. It was pretty damn cold and dark over there. He seemed to be frantically roaming around the first three Bays smoking a cigarette. I said to myself, now this guy is scary. He looked like a transient. Then he ends up behind me staring at me while I was fishing in the water. I stared him down then he took off. As I walked away to fish the next bay, he seemed to follow me because he appeared again. We are in the middle of nowhere and this guy could kill me in a second with nobody to witness it. That’s when I said to myself, I have kids and this Cat is gonna get his if he comes near me. Then I realize that I don’t even have my knife. I stared him down again but mind you I still couldn’t see his face with no moon and he was wearing a hood. He walked away again to the next Bay. That’s when I dodged back to my car 5 minutes away. While I was walking I kept my eye on him as he started towards me again. I jumped in my truck and then called Gateway police to report the wacko. I then went to Breezy for a few small fish and found a rod and reel. Contact me if it is yours. WEIRDO NIGHT!

Duce, you're street smart, I have complete confidence you could handle your business out there...

Most dudes don't have what it takes when it comes to throwing down, lot of cats are all talk and then run away when you stare em down...good on ya for trying to get the rod and reel back to the owner...tight lines, bro. up

Duce, saw that Twilight Zone you were referring to recently. Pretty crazy and makes you wonder sometime what kind of sicko's and nuts are lurking out there. Glad to hear all turned out well. That's why the wife does not want me out there at night and doesn't like when I fly solo. Be safe out there guys and keep an eye out. Enjoy the fall run guys. PS keep the filet knife closer to the vest just in case.

have to admit that when solo and getting dark I have decided to change lures when those "individuals" come by. I cut the line with either my folder or a 7 inch filet knife that is always in its sheath on my GI belt. they have always walked away. but good choice it was that you made !

bringing home venison is now as easy as a bay-caught keeper fluke !

Sometimes the trick is for you to act more weird than the weirdos around you. This way you make them uncomfortable and they move away.

fish with a friend bud...

it's always good to team up with a bud especially if plugging, not only for the crackheads on the beach but you never know, you can get caught by a big wave and get washed out..this happend with buddy darterman, we were fishing long beach jetty to jetty, i kept an eye on him every couple of minutes or so, at one point he disappeared, when i got closer i noticed one of the rocks kept moving, as i got closer i realized it wasnt a rock it was his head,he fell into a hole next to the jetty and was getting smacked up against the rocks, i grabbed him from the back of his aquaskins and pulled him out..if he were alone that nite it would have been tragic..buddy system works..

Be safe brother duce
