Mixed report from montauk in the am and central ss in the pm. Had my first day off of work since june today and had to do a little catchup fishing to satisfy my hunger.

Fell asleep at midnight, left for montauk point at 3 am, with my cousin dan from Pennsylvania who loves to surf fish. Fished most of the.morning at the lighthouse and south side.rocks for nothing. Got breakfast at slack tide(930am) and then went to paulies b&t for the.first time(also my first time fishing montauk, finally), told him of our struggles and he lead us in the right direction as we went on to hammer fluke all afternoon. Left montauk at 3pm and headed for glen cove.

Got home at 530 pm, left for a central south shore spot at 6. Walked into an.all out bluefish massacre. The biggest mass of fish I have ever seen in my life, it was like watching the.discovery channel, minus the 6 party boats 30ft from.the shore. My cousin and I proceeded to rip in bluefish on a27's until dark.

On my way home now, hoping to get atleast 4 hours of.sleep before I have to be back at work, boy ks tomorrow going to be rough.

Had a day of.fishing that I will remember for the rest of my.life. My body took a brutal beating today but never have I fished so many different types of water and techniques as I did today. Also extremely impressed with how.versatile my new setup is and how well it performed. With my 10'6" mojo/battle 6000, I effectively threw 3oz. pencils and 1.5 oz. bucktails under the lighthouse, tossed 3/8 oz tipped leadheads in a calm bay setting, and jigged/casted a27's in big water. Not sure if I could have picked a better setup. Thanks.guys and gals from here for commenting on my thread and helping me out with that one.

Tight lines and good luck,

Sean

Also forgot to thank paulie again for sharing his wisdom with me and would highly recommend Paulies Bait and Tackle shop to anybody that is going to fish montauk, they've got everything you need to catch fish, I mean everything!

Nice report. Glad you hit fluke and that incredible set of blues. So few surf reports on this site lately. Thanks for sharing.
