Fished yesterday on a open charter boat out of Pt.Pleasant,NJ.. Mimi VI. Started fishing in 100'ft of water at the farms. We had a pick of fish bet 2-7lbs then the bite went totally dead for about 15 mins. All of the sudden the big boys came out to play!!! I got one at 10lbs the guy in the stern had one just shy of 10lbs and the same guy got the pool fish which was 12.6lbs beautiful fish!! I ended up with my limit of 6 fish and a cod. It was a great day and a great boat and crew!! Happy New Years to all!!

Sounds like you had a good day. My first trip down there for the blacks and I guess I picked the wrong boat. Had over 100 anglers on the boat. Shoulder to shoulder and the bite was lousy. I had two shorts the guys on either side of me were skunked and from what i saw most guys on the boat were skunked as well. A fish here and there. Capt was indicating it was the aftermath of the storm , but from what i have heard from others it was just some poor spots or maybe just two many anglers dropping a hundred sinkers to the bottom all at once spooked the fish. Who knows.Next time.

Happy new Year
